Ø Urad is one of the important pulse crops grown in all 3 seasons like Kharif,
Rabi and Summer and all over India.
Ø Being a leguminous crop, it has the ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen
(35-40 kg/ha).
Ø It is also used as a nutritious feed, especially for milch animals.
