INTRODUCTION:-
Ø Cotton is one of the most important fiber and cash crop of India and plays
a major role in the industrial and agricultural economy of the country.
Ø It is also called "white gold" due to its importance in
agriculture as well as industrial sector.
Ø Cotton is mainly grown for its fibers, which are used in the manufacture of
clothing for mankind.
Ø The oil content in cottonseed varies between 15-25% depending on the
variety.
Ø Cotton seed cake after oil extraction is a good organic manure and contains
about 6% N, 3% P2O5 and 2% K2O. Cottonseed and cottonseed meal are good
concentrated feed for cattle.
1] Sowing time -
Kharif - Last week of June to first week of July
Where irrigation facility is available - from last week of May to first
