INTRODUCTION:-

Ø It is an important fruit crop of India. Melon is a rich source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
Ø It consists of about 90% water and 9% carbohydrates.
Ø The fruit can be eaten raw or pickled, and the peel is edible after cooking.
Ø It can also be consumed as a juice or as an ingredient in mixed beverages.
Ø Muskmelon is a fruit that is particularly known for its high water content.
Ø It is one of the many fruits that you should consume on hot days and especially on hot days.
Ø Muskmelon is one of those fruits that helps you recover from dehydration.
Ø The states that grow cantaloupe in India include Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

1] Sowing time - The middle of February is the most suitable time for melon cultivation.

2] Seed rate – For sowing in one acre, seed is required at the rate of 400 grams of seed.

3] Spacing - Depending on the type used, prepare beds of 3-4 m wide. Sow two seeds per pit and keep a distance of 60 cm between the pits.
